Challenge

To design a software application that helps with the process of influence (account) mapping through systematically analyzing the account/opportunities a salesperson has at any given moment. Influence mapping helps identify who and what is known as well as what critical information is missing. It helps a sales rep become cognizant of the organization structure, interpersonal relationships, and determine how they affect the business and buying decisions.

My Roles

As Lead/Solo designer to the software application my role was to take in all software requirements understand the methodologies and incorporate the concepts into an easy-to-use interface. I met with the SME, created user stories, documented workflows, and processes, and created a working prototype before handing off all design files to a developer to build out the final web-based application.

Solution

Sketches / Discovery

After meeting with the SME on multiple occasions, several sketches and multiple versions of different components to the build were created and revised upon before any digital assets were created.

Solution

Figma Designs for Web App

Once the core functions had been identified and accounted for through early wireframes and sketches, the initial designs within figma could take place.

Solution

Web App Documentation

Upon completion of the initial designs for the application, several documents had to be put together as instructions for how a sales rep was to make use of the concepts behind the application and the intent of its use.

The finalized designs and demo from Figma were passed off to a developer named Taylor Mackinder for the final build. The front end utilizes react and the backend is generated in express/node.js, with the hosting of the data base is on MongoDB.

"Josh, your designs were very clear to understand and the assets you provided worked perfectly. I look forward to working with you again on future projects."
